A Gastronorm (GN) container is an indispensable part of every catering kitchen. You can never have enough GN containers or trays in the professional kitchen. What is Gastronorm?
Gastronorm is a worldwide standard for the sizing of these containers. The big advantage of this is that because the dimensions are the same, you can use them in combination with a lot of catering equipment. For example, GN containers are suitable for use in ovens, refrigerators, freezers, saladettes, displays, bain maries and even chafing dishes. Benefits of polycarbonate
The use of polycarbonate in GN containers and lids offers many advantages. For example, this material is almost indestructable and, thanks to its transparency, you can see through it on all sides so you know what the contents of the container are. In addition, it is an odourless and taste-free material that doesn’t absorb these qualities from the food. The biggest advantage, however, lies in the ease of cleaning. Polycarbonate GN containers and lids are dishwasher safe, dry quickly and can withstand temperatures from -40 up to 100°C.
